So. Today was interesting. My Russian teacher called me out in front of the entire class for being late (as I couldn't find the classroom...nor the correct floor!) But I still have good feelings about the class. Today's lecture was like pre-school..."A B C's" and "Greetings."
I'm not worried.
I actually look forward to my classes and when I come home, I wish I was doing something else. I hope I stay productive.

Second First Day of School
Yesterday was my first day of school of classes at the University of Memphis. For the most part everything went as I expected: same old musty buildings, old musty teachers, and senile or crusty personalities. I sit in class and pay more attention to the people around me than I do to the teacher at the front of the room. I look around and wonder why people look the way they do, what made them decide to get that very obvious tattoo on the side of his/her neck, and what their purpose (or what they perceive their purpose) to be in this crazy thing we call life.
I know that my purpose (for now) is to complete my bachelor's degree. Plain and simple. I am fortunate to have this as my sole responsibility in my life right now. I don't have a job, any kids, and much else (that really matters) to worry about...and yet I still find time to bitch and moan. Stress is a major thing in my life. I wouldn't say that it controls me, but my anxiety levels are usually high. I will say that I think I have gotten better (or gotten used to) handling stress and have at least learned not to show it. I just hope this semester proves to be a smooth transition from my general education classes into my major (Business Management) required courses.
This semester I am taking 15 hours (5 classes): On Mondays I have Acct 3130, Mgmt 3110, Isds 2710, and Elementary Russian I. I go to Russian today (we'll see how that goes hah!) and For the second half of the semester (starting sometime in October?) I pick up a Tues/Thurs night class. I think I should be able to manage this pretty well...as for it being the second day of the first week I'm not very stressed (although we haven't been assigned anything yet). I plan to keep a positive attitude and do my best...that's all anyone can ask of me, and once I close this chapter in life...I will be prepared to open another.
